Troubleshooting: Cannot Create an Auto-Restock

Troubleshooting: Cannot Create an Auto-Restock

Concessions user  ·  Yellow Dog Inventory 2026

 WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

Auto-Restock drives system-generated purchasing for your events. When the Create New Auto-Restock button is unavailable, you cannot generate the requests that feed restocking, so it is worth resolving before an event. This article helps you identify and fix the most common reasons the button is greyed out.

 ISSUE

The Create New Auto-Restock button is greyed out and cannot be clicked, so a new Auto-Restock cannot be created.

 CAUSE

This usually comes down to one of three things:

The event has not been created in Yellow Dog.

The previous event is still in progress, meaning not all of its milestone times have passed.

The Auto-Restock future cutoff day setting is not configured to allow the Auto-Restock to be created.

 TROUBLESHOOTING

Work through these in order. After each one, check whether the Create New Auto-Restock button is available.

1. Confirm the event exists in Yellow Dog

      1.  Go to Stand Sheets > Events.

      2.  Use the Date Range and Status filters to locate your event.

      3.  If the event is not in the system, select Create New on the right and create it.

2. Confirm the previous event has ended

      1.  Open the previous event and go to the Times tab.

      2.  Confirm that all event times have passed.

      3.  If any milestone time has not passed, use the three-dot menu to the right of that time to edit it to a date and time that is already in the past.

3. Review the Auto-Restock future cutoff setting

      1.  Go to System Setup > Options > Global.

      2.  Review the Auto Restock Future Cutoff day setting.

      3.  If the event you are restocking is further in the future than the configured number of days, increase the setting so the event date falls within the cutoff.

 VERIFICATION STEPS

1.  Return to the Auto-Restock screen.

2.  Confirm the Create New Auto-Restock button is now available and create the Auto-Restock.

 WHEN TO CONTACT SUPPORT
