The minimum quantity you would like inventory of the item to be before ordering more. Items must go below this level to trigger reorder. Items set to 0 will not reorder until you go into negative stock. This is not recommended.
What is a Par Level?
Once an item's inventory drops below “reorder point” , Par Level is the quantity you would like to order back up to.
Example:
Inventory Item: Chocolate Candy Bars
Current on hand:24
Par Level: 50 Reorder Point: 25
Setting this up in Yellow Dog.
1. Locate the item and open the "Item Editor."
2. Go to the "Stores" tab in the item editor and enter the Reorder Point and Par Inventory Level.
**If you are editing a child item's par levels remember to check the highlighted box below, otherwise the Par levels tab will say "Block".
Now that our Par Level and Reorder point is set, what will Yellow Dog do with this information?

Adding Items to a Purchase Orders based on Par Level:Yellow Dog will not automatically create the purchasing documents for you,but it will generate a list of items that are below its reorder point that can be added to the Purchasing document based on the Vendor. For example: I know I need to place an order with Sysco for other Misc items, but I want to go ahead and order any other items that are at or below its reorder point. To complete this, I would first need to create the Purchase order for Sysco, then I can select "Add items from" and view a list of other products I should order.
The quantity added to the purchase order is based on how many it would take to get you back up to your Par Level.
