Yellow Dog/Send Saved Reports Overview

Yellow Dog/Send Saved Reports Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Send Saved Report Integration

Integration Approach

This integration will email saved report templates attached as PDF, Excel, CSV, or Directly Embedded into the email
  1. Emails are sent via SMTP

Requirements for Emails to Send

  1. Saved Reports must be created in Yellow Dog already
  2. At least 1 recipient email address must be assigned in Yellow Dogs Send Saved Reports Module
  3. A Date or Day of the week must be assigned in Yellow Dogs Send Saved Reports Module
  4. The preferred report format for the report must be selected

Best Practices

  1. When creating Report Templates that will be emailed to team members, the date/time filter should be a relative date range (i.e., last 7 days, last month etc.) rather than a static date (10/01/25)
  2. The date/time selected in the Send Saved Reports module will be the time the report generates, not the time the report is emailed to you. The Yellow Dog team will assist with configuring the application that emails the reports. It is recommended that there is approx. an hour between when the reports generate and when they are emailed.

Limitations

  1. If a report is being sent to multiple users, the recipient email addresses must be semicolon ( ; ) separated with no spaces
  2. Report Size Limits
    1. 10MB for Outlook Exchange Accounts and 20MB for Google Accounts. If the email is being sent to users utilizing both Google and Outlook, it is recommended that the report not be over 10MB
    2. If you need to confirm the size your report will be when it exports, run  and export the report directly from directly from Yellow Dog as a test. If the report is over the size limit, try breaking it up into multiple reports per outlet, vendor or department.
  3. The Yellow Dog team will be responsible for scheduling the application that send out the emails. Email Support@yellowdogsoftware.com for assistance updating this sync time.
