Yellow Dog/Mashgin Overview

Yellow Dog/Mashgin Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Mashgin Integration

 Integration Approach

This integration can only be set up as a 1Way - Pull Sales

  1. Sales – pulled from the Mashgin API

Requirements for Items to deplete from Inventory

Note: Items can be mapped or matched to pull in sales and deplete on hands

  1. SKU - The Yellow Dog SKU must be entered in the pos_id field in Mashgin

                                                            -OR-

  1. UPC – The UPC from Yellow Dog must be entered in the pos_id field in Mashgin

                                                           -OR-

  1. POS Item Map – The recipe must be mapped in the POS Item Map module in Yellow Dog

Item management best practices

  1. The POS Menu Item and/or ingredients must be available to the Store in Yellow Dog that on hands should be adjusted out of when sales occur
  2. If items are matching on SKU or UPC and the SKU or UPC is changed in Yellow Dog the items will no longer be able to match, which will prevent items from depleting from Yellow Dog
    1. If a SKU or UPC needs to be updated, enter the updated SKU or UPC into Mashgin as well in the pos_id field.
  3. If an item is removed from Yellow Dog, but has a match in Mashgin that is sold, the status of the item will be updated to Active again from removed in Yellow Dog
    1. NOTE: If an item is made inactive in Yellow Dog and sold at the POS, the status of the item will remain inactive in Yellow Dog
  4. If the item is set up to match and made unavailable from the Yellow Dog store, the sales for that item will stop updating on hands in Yellow Dog.
  5. Items created in Mashgin must be setup to match on Yellow Dog SKU or UPC to see on hands deplete from inventory when sales occur
  6. The Yellow Dog SKU or UPC will need to entered in the pos_id field in Mashgin

 Limitations

  1. The following actions must be performed in Mashgin
    1. Modifier Assignment for items
    2. Screen placement for items
    3. Discount setup
    4. Discount assignment to items
    5. Tax setup
    6. Tax assignment
  2. Mashgin only allows sales to be pulled as far back as 168 hours (7 days)
