Yellow Dog/Revel Integration Overview

Yellow Dog/Revel Integration Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Revel Integration

Integration Approach

This can be set up as a 2Way – Push items and Pull Sales or a 1Way – Pull Sales
  1. Sales – Pull from Revel Webhook
  2. Codes – Pull from Revel API
  3. Items – Push to Revel API

Requirements for items to push to Revel

  1. Items must have Publish enabled

  1. Items must be Available
  2. Items must be Active
  3. Items must NOT be POS Blocked - POS Blocked, Available, and Publish can all be quickly verified using the Interface Codes as of Last Sync View

  1. POS 1 Description must be set. This should be generated automatically, but can be verified in most views, and the Retail Details tab of the item editor

  1. At least 1 Sub-Category
  2. Revel Tax Group

Item Management best practices

  1. If a UPC needs to be removed from an item, and added to a new different item, users MUST complete the following steps
    1. Remove the UPC from the original item, and allow the sync to run and update the item without the UPC
    2. Add the UPC to the new item and let it push over
  2. Any edits or updates that need to be made to items should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push over. Any updates made directly in Revel will be overwritten the next time the Yellow Dog sync runs.

Limitations

  1. For 1Way setups - if a modifier sale occurs before the modifier data is pulled into Yellow Dog the modifier description will be compromised, and cannot be corrected historically
  2. Modifiers cannot be pushed to Revel
  3. The ‘Create New Based On’ feature cannot be utilized for item creation when the Revel integration is being used
  4. Button Colors are hard coded values
  5. After Item updates are pushed to Revel, Revel requires a refresh to see these updates at registers
  6. To match items rather than push them, the Yellow Dog SKU must match the Revel SKU
  7. SKUs and UPCs must be between 4-16 digits
