Yellow Dog/Resort Suite Integration Overview

Yellow Dog/Resort Suite Integration Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Resort Suite Integration

Integration Approach

This is a two-way file exchange integration – we pull sales and push items
  1. Sales – pulls sales from a CSV file
    1. Summary: will provide sales as a roll up, and all sales will be reported as of 12am
    2. Detailed: will provide sales as they occurred throughout the day. This sales export can be requested at the time of implementation. Reach out to support@yellowdogsoftware.com to confirm if you have detailed or summary sales
  2. Items – pushes items to a CSV file

Requirements for items to Push to Resort Suite

  1. Item must be active
  2. Item must be set to Publish
  3. Item must be available to the store
  4. Item must NOT be POS Blocked - this can be checked in the interface codes as of sync view. From this view, users can also quickly identify that Publish is enabled, and that the item is available to the store.

Item Management Best Practices:

  1. Updates and edits to items should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push to Resort Suite. If updates are made directly in Resort Suite, it will be overwritten by Yellow Dog the next time the integration runs.

Limitations

  1. Resort Suite picks up item files once per day
  2. Resort Suite drops off a sales file once per day containing the previous days sales
  3. When items are made inactive or removed from Yellow Dog Resort Suite will replace the SLU and Barcode with a 0 making the item unsellable in RS
  4. Items with a leading 0 are not supported. Any items with a SKU or UPC that has a leading 0, the item will be pushed over without the 0.
  5. 16 Character Limit for POS Description
  6. Special Characters cannot be accepted in item descriptions/pos descriptions
  7. Changing the UPC/SKU in Yellow Dog will create a new item in Resort Suite. It is recommended to change the SKU/UPC in Resort Suite first. This will allow the system to match the two items and prevent a new item from being created. Note: This is the only field we recommend changing in Resort Suite first. All other item updates should be made in Yellow Dog first and allowed to push over.
