Yellow Dog/Book4Time Integration Overview
This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Book4Time Integration
Integration Approach
This is a 2Way Integration – we present item information and are provided sales information. NOTE: There is no sync application that can be controlled on the Yellow Dog side. Everything is sent to us or pulled from us by Book4Time.
- Sales – are pushed to the Yellow Dog API from the Book4Time API
- Items – are pulled from the Yellow Dog API
- Codes – are added manually. Click Here for step on creating codes
Requirements for items to be picked up by Book4Time
- POSDescription1 must be set – This should be created automatically and can be verified in the Retail Details tab of the item editor

- Interface – Class must be set
- Interface – SubClass must be set
- Interface – Department must be set
- Interface – Brand must be set

Item management best practices
Changes should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to be picked up by Book4Time. Any changes made directly in Book4Time will be overwritten, the next time Book4Time picks up item information.
Limitations
- The Yellow Dog side is completely passive and doesn’t control or impact the push of items or the pull of sales
- Book4Time updates once a day, at a time that will be determined during implementation. NOTE: Yellow Dog does not have the ability to adjust this time, or run
it manually.
- If there are multiple Yellow Dog Stores all interfaces will be the same
- SKU - limit of 20 characters (alphanumeric)
- UPC - limit of 30 characters (alphanumeric)
- The transaction portion of the Book4Time sync only pulls the last 24 hours or transactions
- Voids are not sent to Yellow Dog. Only returns.
- Non-Stock returns performed at the POS will still return stock in Yellow Dog.
