Yellow Dog/Roller Integration Overview
This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog
Roller Integration
Integration Approach
This integration can be set up as a 2Way - Pull sales & Push items or a 1Way - Pull sales
- Sales – Pulled from Roller Webhook
- Codes – Pull from Roller API
- Items – Pushed to Roller API
Requirements for items to push to Roller
- Item must have Publish Set
- Item must be Available to the location deemed the ‘interface location ‘
- Item must be active = NOT removed
- Item must not be POS Blocked – The interface codes as of last synced view will allow users to quickly very which locations an item is available to, whether the item has Publish enabled, and whether the item is POS Blocked.
- Retail1 must be set. The Retail 1 price can be $0, but it cannot be blank

Item management best practices
- For 1Way setups recipes should be mapped in the POS Item map area of Yellow Dog to ensure ingredients are depleted when sales are pulled in.
- Yellow Dog recommends limiting who can edit item SKUs in Yellow Dog. Editing a Yellow Dog SKU can create duplicate items in Roller.
- Item updates and edits should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push to Roller. Changes made directly in Roller will be overwritten by Yellow Dog the next time the sync runs
- For items that need to be removed from Roller users should disable the Publish setting in Yellow Dog and archive the item in Roller.
Limitations
- Items must have unique descriptions - even matrix items. Yellow Dog can be configured to include dimensions in POS Descriptions, which will ensure unique item descriptions are pushed to Roller. The ”propagate settings” option should unchecked for Matrix Items
- All items in a matrix must have the same interfaces assigned
- Items must have the same price for all locations
- Tax codes are added manually by Yellow Dog team. Email the Helpdesk for assistance.
- Preexisting items can only be utilized in a 1Way integration. There is matching for no 2Way integration
- 75 Character limit for Item Description and POS1 Description
