FAQs: Invoice Staging & Ben E Keith

Question:
Are there limitations when submitting Ben E Keith Invoices to Retriever?

Answer:
Yes. Invoices that include catch-weight items (items sold by weight rather than by a fixed unit such as a case or box) contain multiple quantity fields. These invoices typically show:
  • A Case column that lists the number of cases.

  • A Description column that includes the actual weight of the item.

Retriever can misinterpret these multiple quantity values. To ensure Retriever imports only the true weight, redact the Case column before submitting the invoice.

You can black out the Case column using:

  • A marker (for paper copies), or

  • A PDF-editing tool (for digital copies).

This prevents incorrect quantity data from being brought into the staged invoice.
