Quick Reference: Sales Channel Data & Configuration



Sales Channels control how stores connect to integrations and reporting workflows. Misconfigured or misunderstood fields can lead to:

  • Missing stores in integrations or reporting
  • Incorrect assumptions about sync timing
  • Incomplete or invalid Sales Channel setups

Accurate configuration ensures stores are properly available for selection and that integrations function as expected.



Sales Channel Code (Code field)

  • This is a system-generated unique identifier (GUID).
  • It does NOT represent:
    • Store ID
    • Third-party location ID
  • It is used internally by the system for identification.   

Last Updated

  • Reflects the last time the Sales Channel was modified in Yellow Dog.
  • Does NOT indicate:
    • Integration sync timing
    • External system updates

Store Availability in Sales Channels

  • Stores must meet specific criteria to appear for selection.
  • If you see “No Stores Selected”, the store likely does not meet eligibility requirements.

Store Requirement

  • Store must be configured as a Stand
  • Only Stand-type stores can be assigned to Sales Channels.

Best Practices

  • Validate store configuration first
    • Before troubleshooting Sales Channels, confirm the store is set up correctly as a Stand.
  • Do not rely on Code for identification
    • Use store names or known identifiers instead of the Code field.
  • Timestamps
    • Use Last Updated only to track internal changes, not integration activity.
  • Standardize store setup
    • Ensure all integration-eligible stores follow the same configuration pattern (Stand = True).
  • Recheck after updates
    • After making changes to a store, return to the Sales Channel and confirm it is now selectable.
