Quick Reference: Top Task Bar
Use this as a quick reference on the features located on the top-task bar. For more in-depth guidance, explore related Feature Overview, How-To, and FAQs articles on the Knowledge Base.
The top task bar gives you quick access to key setup features and Yellow Dog actions.

You’ll find the following on the top task bar:
- Log Out: Always log out when leaving your workstation to prevent unauthorized access under your login.
- Change Password: Changing your password requires knowledge of your current password.
- Password Recovery: Employees must set up Password Recovery by selecting it and creating two security questions. This enables the Forget Password option on the login prompt if a wrong password is entered. Without Password Recovery, an admin must manually reset the password in the employee’s profile.
- Refresh Data: Use Refresh Data to update inventory information after any significant data changes.
- Recalculate Costs: Updates data for accurate reporting, including recipe costs. You can confirm the process is complete by reviewing the bottom task bar. The recalculation job will show and once it is clear the process is completed.
- Sync: Some integrations allow you to use the sync dropdown to launch and check sync status. If your integration supports this feature, your Implementation Guide will provide instructions.
- Themes: Themes allow you to easily change the Yellow Dog Inventory font and background color. There are currently 3 themes available : Classic, Dark, and Yellow Dog. You are required to have administrator access on your computer to change the theme.
- Help: Provides additional information including Client Services (Support) contact information. The Client Service’s phone number is also located on the right side of the top task bar.
