How To: Import Interfaces by Level using the Balto Import Tool

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
The Balto Import Tool lets users quickly bulk assign item interfaces to levels in Yellow Dog (YD).

Before running an import, make sure:
  1. All levels already exist in YD.
  2. The stores exist in YD.
  3. A ClientID and a Yellow Dog user account with access to Mobile.
NotesNote: Interfaces can be assigned to individual items, levels, or stores. Yellow Dog recommends assigning interfaces to levels so that all items under that level inherit the interface codes automatically.


  1. Level Code: The Code of the level that will be updated. This must already exist as a Level in the Database.
  2. Store Code: The store code to apply the change to. The store must already exist in YD.
  3. Type: Must exactly match the integration’s type.
  4. Code: Include both the numerical value and the code description.

  1. Access Balto; Navigate to 'Level Store', click Configure &  Download the import template file.
  2. Configure the file. Ensure all required fields are complete.

Warning
Do not edit column headers in the import template. You may remove unused columns, but the remaining headers must stay unchanged.

      3.  In Balto, choose “Add File.”
      4.  Click Submit.
  1.  If the file processes successfully, verify the results in your YD client.
  2.  If the file fails, review the error entries below the failure message to identify the issue.
     5.  Fix any errors, then:
  1.  Click Clear.
  2.  Remove the file.
  3. Add the corrected file again.
  4. Re-submit.
  6. After successful processing, confirm in YD that interfaces have populated as expected.
