How To: Import Interfaces by Level using Balto
This document will review how to import interface settings for a level using the Balto import tool.
Prerequisites
- Items are required to exist in YD already
- Items cannot be marked as removed.
- The stores must also exist in YD
- Yellow Dog user with access to mobile
With all Balto imports, be sure not to change any of the column headers in the template. Unused columns can be removed, but the headers should not be edited in any way.
Required Fields
- Item SKU: The SKU of the item that will be configured
- Store Code: Code of the store to be affected; the store must exist in YD already
- Type: This must be an exact match to what is used by the integration. This can
- Code: Should include the numerical value as well as the description of the code being assigned
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Access Balto; Client ID and a user with access to Mobile are required. NOTE: Interfaces can be assigned to individual items, to levels, or to the store. Typically, Yellow Dog recommend assigning to the Level. This will ensure that all items assigned to that level inherit the interface codes without having to manage the individual items.
2. Download the import template file
3. Configure file, all required fields should have data
4. Choose the Add File option in Balto
5. Click Submit
- The file will be processed successfully, or will fail
- If the file fails, see the entries below the failure message to see why the file has failed. Fix the data set.
- Once the file has been corrected, click Clear, remove the file, add the file again, and re-submit
6. Once the file has been processed successfully, check the YD client to ensure interfaces have populated as expected.
