Accounting periods are date ranges used with the Ledger and determine when Ledger entries can be made.
To access Accounting periods, the Ledger must be enabled in your Yellow Dog inventory and your login must have access to System Setup.
Go to System Setup > Accounting Periods.
Click Create New Accounting Period.
Enter the description in the Accounting Period Name field.
Set dates accordingly:
Start Date: This is the start of the accounting period.
End Date: This is the end of this accounting period.
Grace Period Until: This is date that a ledger record can be created until in this period, without a warning.
Adjustments Until: After this date, no ledger records can be created for this period.
Click Save and Close.
After the Accounting Period ends, open the Accounting Period and select Close Accounting Period to finalize the period. This will ensure that edits to this period cannot be made.
