How do I import counts from Freepour?

How do I import counts from Freepour?

Yellow Dog partners with Freepour, a bar scale system, where inventory counts can be collected and imported into a Yellow Dog physical inventory, allowing users to enjoy a seamless physical inventory experience.

1.  The integration must be included in your contract and initial setup completed by Freepour and Yellow Dog.

2.  Items must be assigned to the Yellow Dog SKU in Freepour.
- Freepour will complete an initial import to assign Yellow Dog SKUs to existing Freepour items.
-  Users must assign Yellow Dogs SKUs to Freepour items in Freepour when new items are added any time after the initial import.

Assigning Yellow Dog SKU to Freepour Items in Freepour

Assigning the YD SKU to items in Freepour allows Yellow Dog to associate items properly and apply counts to inventory items.

1.  Under Product Setup\Inventory add required information to the item:
- Use the Export UOM dropdown to assign the export unit of measure
- Enter the Yellow Dog SKU into the POS ID field.

Note: If YD export is configured in Dashboard to export by UPC, YD inventory items will need to be assigned the UPC used by ScanChecker Dashboard.

How to Import Counts into Yellow Dog

Step 1: Export Counts from Freepour

1.  Select an Inventory Count to view.

2.  In the Count Summary Form, use the “POS Export” and select “By Inventory ID”.

Note:
 - Currently, the export will only work when (1) stocking location is selected.
 - If multiple bars need to be exported to YD, each will need to be exported separately.

Step 2: Import Counts to Yellow Dog

1.  Go to Physical Inventory\Sessions and select “Import 3rd Party Session”.

Note:

- If the “Import 3rd Party Session” is grey out. The export was not successfully exported from Freepour. Review step 1 and ensure steps were correctly completed.
- If the “import 3rd Party Session” button is not visible, the users needs to be assigned the employee permission “Import Third Party” by a database admin user.

2. Click to highlight the session you would like to import and then click “Select”. The session will now be available in the database and can be pulled into the Physical Inventory as normal.

Freepour Q&A

How do I find out more about the Yellow Dog integration with Freepour?

Visit our help page: Freepour Specifications

Why is the “Import 3rd Party Session” button mission from my screen?

If the “Import 3rd Party Session" button is missing from your screen, a database admin user will need to assign the employee permission “Import Third Party”. If you are a database admin user and do not have the permission please reach out to Yellow Dog Support by submitting a ticket on the Customer Portal or calling the Support Hotline at (757) 663-7514.

Why is “Import 3rd Party Session” greyed out?

If “Import 3rd Party Session” is greyed out, this means the export was not properly exported and received from Freepour.  Review the steps for exporting counts and repeat steps to ensure the instructions were correctly completed.

Why can’t I import a session that is listed?

If the session shows that it contains invalid items, then the counts cannot be imported until the issue is resolved. An invalid item happens when an item in Freepour is not assigned/wrongly assigned to a YD SKU. To resolve, identify any newly created items and review the POS ID assignment in Freepour.
