What are Yellow Dogs best practices for breaking Parent/Child Items?

Yellow Dog can create related or Parent/Child Items, and an example could be bottles of wine- they are ordered by the case and sold by the bottle. Yellow Dog also provides the ability to Swap or break those relationships. Click Here for a step by step on how to swap that relationship.

*This task will require right click permissions to Set Parent Child, as well as Manual Adjustment Permissions*

  1. Navigate to the items in question, highlight both, right click and select Break Parent/Child Relationships

  1. Confirm that you would like to break the relationship

  1. The on hands will now reside only with the item that was the parent item, and the child item can now be removed.  Maintenance will need to run over night to account for changes to the items calculated cost. If calculated cost is still not as expected Manual Adjustments can be used to reset the cost. Click Here for a step by step.
