How To: Review Ingredient Item Status for Items used in Recipes




Items must be marked as an ingredient item to be used in recipes. Ensure item are marked as an ingredient item to avoid roadblocks when creating a recipe.




  1. Got to Item Management > Inventory Items.

  2. Select the View dropdown to select Classic FnB.

  3. Select Other dropdown and choose Hide Child Items to view only Base Unit sizes.

  4. Review the Ingredient Item column to verify ingredient status. 
    You may need to scroll over to the right in the item listing to see this column.
    1. Y = Yes, item is marked as an ingredient item.
    2. N = No, item is not marked as an ingredient item.


  1. To quickly mark an item as an ingredient, right-click it on the Inventory Item screen and select Set as Recipe Ingredient.

  2. For Base Unit sizes that are a weight or volume, assign the Net Volume or Net Weight on the F&B Details tab of the Item Editor. This allows you to use the item in different units of measure in a recipe.
