How To: Create Manual Adjustments in YD Mobile

 WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

Manual adjustments record inventory changes that happen outside of standard processes like purchasing or sales—commonly waste, loss, or corrections. Entering them in YD Mobile lets you capture these changes in real time while you are on the floor, so your on-hand quantities and end-of-month reports reflect true consumption and loss.

 PREREQUISITES

•      YD Mobile installed and logged in to your Yellow Dog Inventory account

•      Permission to create manual adjustments

•      A store selected (if you have access to more than one store)

•      At least one manual adjustment account set up to categorize the adjustment

 STEP BY STEP

Create a manual adjustment

1.    From the Home screen, press Manual Adjustments.

2.    Press the + icon at the top right.

3.    Select Open Manual Adjust Details.

4.    Press the Select an Account… field and choose an account for the manual adjustment.

5.    If you are required to enter a reference, type it in the Reference field.

6.    Swipe down to return to the Create Manual Adjust screen.

7.    Swipe up on the green menu to see the Add Items From options, then select the method you want to use to add items:

a.     Scanner — scan SKUs or UPCs to pull in items.

b.     Item Lookup — search the list of items assigned to the store and select items to add.

c.      Item Lists — pull in an existing item list.

d.     Count Sheets — pull in an existing count sheet.

e.     Items Below Reorder — pull in items below their reorder points.

8.    Once items are added, set a quantity for each item using the + or − buttons, or press the quantity field to type a quantity.

9.    Use Long Press to Commit to submit the manual adjustment.

Caution: Enter negative quantities to remove items from inventory. A positive quantity adds to on-hand; a negative quantity reduces it. Double-check the sign before committing, since committing updates inventory immediately.

Note: To see full detail on existing manual adjustments, open Settings from the Home screen and toggle on Detailed Manual Adjustments.
