How To: Add Additional Size to an Inventory Item
Being able to create items with multiple sizes in Yellow Dog Inventory ensures accurate tracking of stock across all variations of the same product. This improves reporting, streamlines ordering, and prevents discrepancies.
For Concessions and Food & Beverage clients, additional item sizes are created for purchasing and counting sizes.
- Select the Child Item tab on the Item Editor.
- Click the next available Child Item box.
- Select the size from the Size dropdown.
- Enter the size details in the Reference field. Ex. CASE = 24 BTL
- Enter the conversion quantity in the conversion field.
- The conversion quantity is how many on-hand units make up the new size.
- The conversion field will be label as the [ON-HAND SIZE] per [ADDTIONAL SIZE]. Ex. FL OUNCES per CASE.
- If this is a purchasable size:
- Select Use in Purchasing.
- Enter the cost in the Vendor Price field.
- Optional: Enter the vendor item code in the Vendor PN field.
- Click Save and Close.
