Feature Overview: Stand Items - Item Types
Assigning an item type to stand items ensures the right items are counted in and out (items that are not assigned an item type will never appear in your count ins/count outs).
The item type is set on the Size Behavior Tab.

When creating an item for use in stands, one of the four item types (Chargeable, Non-Chargeable, Supplies or POS Item) must be assigned.
- Item Types: There are four distinct item types that can be assigned to stand items.
- Chargeable: Items that are counted and tracked at the stand. When creating Chargeable items that have multiple sizes, the size that is designated as the chargeable should be the primary ‘parent’ size.
- Non-Chargeable: Items that are not counted at the stand, typically ingredient items that are deducted when sold at the POS. The size that is designated as the non-chargeable should be the primary ‘parent’ size.
- Supply: Items that are not counted or sold but require ending amount to trigger restock for events. Yellow Dog recommends making the pack or transfer size the primary size.
- POS Item: POS Items are made to order items that will be sold at the POS such as a hot dog, or hamburger. These items will have the recipe for the made to order item attached, and when the POS Menu item is sold the ingredients in the related recipe will be depleted from inventory.

- Type Assignment: The Item Type can be assigned the Size Behavior Tab of the Item Editor or by right-clicking an Item on the Item Management > Inventory Item screen when under the Stand Item view and selecting Set Chargeable Flag.
- Assignment Review: The Item Type can be reviewed quickly by using the Stand Item view and referring to the Type column.

Ensure all stand items are assigned an item type by reviewing the Type column when using the Stand Item view on the Item Management > Inventory Item screen on a regular basis.
