Quick Reference: Remote Web Access on Tablets and Handheld Devices

End user  ·  Yellow Dog Inventory 2026

 WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

You can reach Yellow Dog Inventory from a tablet or handheld device through the remote web access server. On these devices, text entry works differently than on a desktop: the remote web server does not bring up the device's on-screen keyboard, so you need a physical keyboard connected to the device to type into Yellow Dog's fields.

 HIGHLIGHTS

Applies when you access Yellow Dog Inventory through the remote web access server on a tablet or handheld device.

Touch-screen devices do not recognize the text fields served through the remote web server, so the on-screen keyboard does not appear.

A physical keyboard connected to the device is required to enter text.

Caution: Without a keyboard connected to the device, you cannot type into Yellow Dog's fields when accessing the system through the remote web server on a touch-screen device.
