Troubleshooting: Locked Physical (Unable to Open Physical)

Physical Inventory is locked.

If a Physical Inventory is opened and then unexpectedly closed—such as from a computer crash, force closing with the task manager or power outage—the inventory will be locked. Once locked, it can only be accessed by the user who originally opened it.

The user who originally opened the Physical Inventory must:
  1. Log in and reopen the Physical Inventory.

  2. Save and Close the Physical Inventory to unlock it, allowing other users to access it.

  1. Always save your work frequently in the Physical Inventory Editor.
    1. Unsaved changes cannot be recovered by the Yellow Dog Support Team if a disconnection occurs.

  2. The lock message displays the original user.
    1. That user can break the lock, regardless of their assigned permissions.

If the original user that opened the Physical Inventory is not available to log into Yellow Dog Inventory and resolve the issue within a reasonable time, reach out to support for assistance.
