Feature Overview: Auto Transfer
Auto Transfer automatically replenishes inventory for designated locations by assigning a primary location to supply one or more satellite locations.
When a satellite location records sales or manual adjustments, its on-hand quantity will go negative. During the nightly maintenance process, Yellow Dog creates a transfer to offset the negative balance and return the on-hand quantity to zero.
Go to:
System Setup > Interfaces
You can configure Auto Transfer at the:
- Store level
- Level
- Item level
Recommendation: Configure at the Level to ensure all items inherit the setting.Figure: Example of the Auto Transfer interface setting
Use Auto Transfer when one location should hold inventory for other locations.
Common scenarios:
- Central warehouse supplying outlets (F&B, stadiums)
- Main store supplying satellite retail locations
- Commissary or prep kitchen supplying service locations
All
- Requires permission to edit Interfaces
- Automatically creates, issues, and accepts transfers
Transfers appear in:
- Transfer reports
- Item History
Transfers include:
- Description: Automatic Transfer
- Notes indicating Auto Transfer generated the transaction
- Supports configuration at Store, Level, or Item
Version Note: Prior to version 377, this feature required assistance from Yellow Dog Support or Implementation.
