Quick Reference: RFID Recounts

RFID scanning is faster and more efficient than barcode scanning, but some items may be missed. Creating multiple count sessions allows you to complete accurate counts without duplicating inventory.

Recount best practices with RFID

  • If items are missed during the initial count, create a second session in Count XL.
    • If the second session captures all items, you can delete the first session and use only the second.
    • If both sessions are required to capture all items, keep both.
  • Create a physical inventory and import counts from the finalized sessions as usual.

Duplicate handling

Before counts are added to the physical inventory, Yellow Dog reviews EPC codes across all selected sessions and removes duplicates.

  • A confirmation message shows:
    • Which items were counted more than once
    • The number of duplicate scans
    • The final counts that will be applied to the physical inventory
