 WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

The PAR Worksheet provides a fast, repeatable way to mass-update PAR levels using actual sales data from a selected date range or event. Keeping your PAR levels accurate means you restock appropriately, buy less, and can build worksheets that reflect seasonal changes in demand.

 PREREQUISITES

Permission to Worksheets > PAR Worksheets

The date range or event you want to analyze

Which stores or stands you want to update

Whether you need restocking sizes only (recommended for Concessions)

🎬 Use the PAR Worksheet (5 min)

 STEP BY STEP

Create and configure the worksheet

1.   Navigate to Worksheets > PAR and select Create New PAR Worksheet.

2.   Enter a Worksheet Number — the date of the event (for example, 03.15.26).

3.   Enter a Description — the name of the event (for example, Game 5 - High Attendance).

4.   Select Stands.

5.   Select Size. For Concession clients, it is recommended to select Include Only Restocking Size — this is the size you transfer items into stands in.

6.   Select Levels. Include all levels unless you are creating PAR worksheets for specific item sets.

7.   Set the Date Span or Event. This is the date range or event that sales will be pulled from for analytics.

Fetch and review the data

1.   Click Fetch Data.

2.   Set Sorting Options to your preferences, then click Apply Sorting.

3.   Review the information and make any necessary adjustments in the New PAR Level column. Use the guidance below to decide where to adjust:

COLUMN

WHAT TO CONSIDER

Qty Sold

High sales? Consider increasing PAR.

Sellthrough Rate

High % = likely understocked. Low % = possibly overstocked.

Ending On Hand

Large leftover quantities? Lower PAR.

Note: When you change the PAR, Yellow Dog Inventory automatically updates the reorder point. Editing the reorder point on its own does not change the PAR. For simple restocking behavior, edit the PAR and leave the reorder point alone so the two stay aligned.

Commit your changes

1.   Click Commit Changes to update PAR levels.

2.   Select Yes Refresh.

3.   Click Close to exit the worksheet.

Note: Saving the worksheet does not change any PAR levels — nothing is applied until you Commit Changes. You can save, leave, and return to the same worksheet as many times as you need before committing.

 BEST PRACTICES

Create separate template worksheets for special events

Build a PAR Worksheet for each recurring demand pattern and save it as a template for reuse. Common examples:

     Start of season

     Mid-season adjustments

     Holiday periods

     Hot weather periods

Keep the reorder point aligned with PAR

Because changing the PAR automatically updates the reorder point, the simplest approach is to edit only the PAR and let the reorder point follow. This keeps reorder point equal to PAR for straightforward restocking.

Use restocking size only for Concessions

For Concessions, select Include Only Restocking Size, since that is the size you transfer items into stands in and the size you want to manage PAR levels against.
