Troubleshooting: Why Are My PO Approval Emails Missing Information?

If you are receiving PO Approvals in your email that appear to be missing information, the cause is likely that you have items included in the PO that do not have dimension 1 set in your database.  Here is an example of a PO Approval Email that is appearing with an incomplete and several blank lines for items.

Dimension 1 is a required setting for items to appear correctly in a PO Approval Email.  If there are items that are included on a Purchase Order but do not have dimension 1 set, your PO Approval email will be missing information.

Here for example the items that are included on this PO are missing Dimension 1, Color.  Therefore, the PO Approval email is missing information.

To identify dimension 1 for your database, navigate to the dimensions tab under Common Set up and see what field is set to dimension 1.

To quickly identify what items are in your database that have no dimension 1 set, in this example the dimension 1 is set to color,  you can click the column header for color on the item editor screen and that will organize the items by color and show those with no size at the top of the list:

Then right click and select 'Set Dimensions' and choose dimension 1 for your items.  Keep in mind that you can hold down SHIFT while you click or CTRL while you click to highlight a range of items or multiple items at once. This will make this a faster task:

Once you have set this dimension for your items, they should all appear on your approval emails.
