What is Auto Zero and how do I configure it?
Auto-Zero gives users the ability to have items with on-hand
values that are not tracked while not losing the ability to track costs of those
items. An example use case of this could be employee uniforms – while an organization
may not be concerned with the quantity on hand at a given time of their employee
uniforms, they may want to track the cost as that is expense to their organization.
When this feature is enabled, any sales that might occur to this item throughout
the day will put the item in the negative. Overnight when our maintenance
application runs a manual adjustment will be performed in the background to bring
the item on hand back to 0. Users will have the ability to create and set specific
manual
adjustment accounts for this action. Auto-Zero can be set for an entire
store, level, or individual items.
As a note- This feature is typically configured
during the implementation process and only the Yellow Dog System User can set
or make updates to the configuration. This is to ensure that users have it
configured correctly and are aware of the ramifications of using this feature
because enabling it makes such a significant database change. Click Here to submit a ticket to support and request to have Auto Zero enabled.
