What are POS-Only Sales Reports?

The POS-Only Sales Reports will show all sales captured from the Point of Sale (POS) and if those sales were assigned to items or recipes.

We recommend users utilize this report to ensure all of their products being sold are assigned to items in Yellow Dog. If items are unassigned, they will not deplete inventory when sold. In addition, the unassigned items will not report in any of the other sales reports in Yellow Dog.

This report is also very useful to identify the "Open" item sales.

How to Generate:

1. In Yellow Dog, go to "Standard Reports".

2. Expand the "Sales" folder.

3. Expand the "POS-Only" folder.

4.Select "All Sales Captured"

5. Set your Date/Time and Store filters.

6. Generate.

How to address "unassigned" items.

F&B: Once you have identified an item that is unassigned, you will need to MAP the POS item to the Recipe in Yellow Dog Inventory so the ingredients will deplete with sales.

Retail: Once you have identified an item that is unassigned, you will need to remove/inactivate the item from the POS, and recreate the item in Yellow Dog. During the next sync, Yellow Dog will push this item to your POS so it can be sold and tracked through Yellow Dog.

POS-Only/All Sales Captured has three new columns:

  • Source shows which sync the sale came from. This is helpful for sites using multiple POS companies.
  • Assigned Recipe Cost displays the cost of the recipe assigned to that POS Item.
  • Extended Recipe Cost multiplies Assigned Recipe Cost x Quantity for an extended cost on the POS transaction line.
