Calculated Cost Explained: Weighted Average Per Store & All Stores

Weighted Average Per Store & All Stores

  • Calculated cost of an item is defined as the average price paid across all history of an item.
  • Per Store – cost only factors in the price paid for the item in each store independently. Cost can be different in each store. When inventory hits 0, the cost for the item will reset.
  • For All Stores – cost factors in the price paid for the item in every store and uses the same cost database wise. Cost will never reset and will always include all purchases in history.
  • For this method cost does not change when something sells. Cost only changes when something is purchased.
