Tips & Tricks: What settings needed to have my Items to update in Shopify?

In Version 370 of Yellow Dog updates were made to the Shopify Integration. In conjunction to these changes, there have been updates as to how Shopify items are configured in Yellow Dog.  

Please find the updated configuration requirements below:

Store Configuration

1.    Yellow Dog stores require a Shopify Location ID set. 

2.    Sync Supports Shopify’s Multi-Location feature 

a.    push on hands to specific Shopify locations

b.    Pull sales from specific Shopify locations

 

Yellow Dog Item Configuration -- Only Pushing On Hands Requirements

1.    New items must have the Send to Web box checked to allow the sync to match the Shopify item and pull in the Shopify ID. (Items that existed at the time of the implementation will be matched by the Yellow Dog team)

2.    Item must be available to the Web store

3.    Item must be active

4.    Item can not be removed

5.    On Hand Adjustment in the last 180 days OR change to Web Item Properties in the last 7 days.

6.    Item can not be POSBlocked 

 

 

Sync Changes -- If pushing items

1.             Ability to push Dimensions 4+ as tags

2.             Ability to push Dimension 1,2, and/or 3 with items to Shopify. 

3.             Ability to match items Yellow Dog & Shopify items on different fields

a.    SKU

b.    Reference 1

c.     Reference 2

d.    Reference 3

e.    Reference 4

4.             Allow $0 Retail 

a.    Used if the site wants to be able to push in $0 retail prices.

5.             Ability to Pull Shopify Codes (Collections) Sync Changes --Sales Pull

1. Ability to pull Tender and Taxes

a. This data does not report anywhere in Yellow Dog. Used only for accounting integrations. 

Sync Options:

1. Match Item Properties --if pushing items

a.    Used to assign item web properties (Tags, Types, etc)  in Yellow Dog based on settings to matching items in Shopify.

b.    This is meant to be used when items have been previously configured in Shopify and not in Yellow Dog.

 

Yellow Dog Item Configuration --If pushing items

1.    Images are now saved to the database vs cloud. 

a.    If switching to pushing items from Yellow Dog, Images need to be removed from Shopify BEFORE syncing. If you do not, the sync will create duplicate images and you won't know which one to delete.

2.    Matrix Web Properties can now be Item Specific.

3.    Web Placement can be set in the Matrix editor.

a.    This allows the user to determine which item's image appears on the web page for the matrix.

Yellow Dog Item Web Properties Item Configuration -- if pushing items

1.    Any items you want to push to Shopify will need to have the Send to Web option enabled in the Web Properties tab.

2.    Product Types and Product Tags are now managed in Web Properties tab

a.    Previously these were managed in Interfaces

b.    Following an Upgrade and sync pull, use Match Item Properties to set these fields. 

Yellow Dog Item Interfaces --if pushing items

1. Shopify Collections are now set in AccountingOther - Shopify Collection 1-7.

a.    Previously these were set as Generic Codes A-G

b.    Following an Upgrade and sync pull, these settings must be set manually in Yellow Dog.
