How to create Stand-alone Sessions in Count XL

How to create Stand-alone Sessions in Count XL

This document will guide users through creating a session in Stand-alone Mode for Count XL

    1.       Once device is powered on swipe up from the bottom to see all the apps installed on the device. Navigate to Count XL and tap to open.

2. When the application launches you will see the login screen. Users who are not hosted, or do not have access to Wi-Fi should select Create Stand-alone Session

3.   Because this version does not have access to Wi-Fi or your database, you will be taken straight to the Session screen, where you will enter the name of your session. Under the session name, users will see the date/time the session was created, the most recent date the session was edited, total counted quantity, the total number of lines, and the number of unique barcodes.

4.  After entering a session name, users are ready to scan items. Use the two blue buttons on the side of the device to engage the device scanner.

Note: When creating Stand-alone sessions, all barcodes will be accepted regardless of the items store availability.

5. Once items have been scanned users will have the option to continuously scan to increase count, type in a count using the calculator, or use the rockers to increase/decrease the count

6.   Once the count has been completed select the Export option in the top right corner. This will export the session to a CSV file.

Note: Finalizing a session cannot be undone

7. Once you have finalized and are ready to bring the session into Yellow Dog plug the device into your PC – swipe down from the very top to access settings. At the bottom tap the area that says Android System and select Tap for more options

8.     On the USB preferences screen select File Transfer under ‘Use USB for’

   9. On your PC, in the File Explorer, click to open your device  (ex. EA630, EA520 etc)  then select Internal Storage
