FAQs: Taxable items in Shopify

Question:

How can items be configured as 'Taxable' for Shopify?

Answer:

You can configure item tax settings for Shopify  in one of two ways, depending on how items are managed between Yellow Dog and the webstore.

Option 1: Push items from Yellow Dog to the webstore

When items are created in Yellow Dog and pushed to the webstore:

  • Tax settings, descriptions, and retail prices are configured in Yellow Dog.

  • These fields are synced to the Shopify during the item push.

  • Manage tax settings on the Web Properties tab of the item editor in Yellow Dog.

Option 2: Create items in the webstore and match them to Yellow Dog

When items are created directly in the webstore and then matched to Yellow Dog:

  • All item configuration, including tax settings, is managed in the webstore.
