Yellow Dog/Shopify Integration Overview

Yellow Dog/Shopify Integration Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Shopify Integration

Integration Approach

This integration can be set up in 4 primary ways:
  1. 1Way - pull sales only
  2. 2Way – pull sales and push on hands
  3. 2Way – pull sales and push items and on hands.
  4. 2Way – pull sales and push items (but not on hands)

Sales & Items Updates

  1. Sales – Pulled from the Shopify API
  2. Items – Pushed to the Shopify API
  3. On Hands - Pushed to the Shopify API

Requirements for Items to Push

  1. Item must be active = NOT removed
  2. Item must NOT be POS Blocked
  3. Item is available to the designated Web Store. - this can be checked in the interface codes as of sync view. From this view, users can also quickly identify that Publish is enabled, and that the item is NOT POS Blocked

  1. Item has Web Property Setting – ‘Send to Web’ enabled. This can easily be verified in the Web Items View

  1. Note – The following settings may be required depending on specific sync configuration decided during implementation.
    1. Item Retail
    2. Dimensions 1-3

Item Management Best Practices

If items are being pushed to Shopify from Yellow Dog and the SKU/UPC needs to be assigned to a different item, the change should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push to Shopify. NOTE: Assigning the SKU/UPC to a different item in Shopify directly will break the relationship between the item in Shopify and the item in Yellow Dog and cause the incorrect item on hand to be updated. If only on hands are being updated the user will need to remove the incorrect item from Shopify and recreate it.

Limitations

There is a 20-megapixel limit for images The Yellow Dog side of the integration has no control over ‘smart collections’ Returns only replenish on hands if the Shopify return was selected to “restock” All matrix items must have been created in the matrix originally, the integration does not support items that have been added a matrix after the fact.
