Reporting Explained: Sales Top By Item

 
Use the Sales report to view your top-selling items for a selected time period.

 

Reports > Standard Reports > Retail > Sales

 
The Sales report displays sales data for top-selling items. By default, the report returns the top 25 items, but you can adjust this value to any number.


Generate the report

  1. Go to Reports > Standard Reports.

  2. Select Retail > Sales.

  3. Configure the required filters.

  4. Apply optional filters if needed.

  5. Run the report.

Required filters

  • Date/Time – Select the reporting period.

  • Top – Number of top-selling items to include. The default value is 25, but you can enter any number.

Optional filters

  • Sales Column – Sort results by a selected metric such as:

    • First Sold

    • Last Sold

    • Quantity Sold

    • Current On Hand

    • Other available sales metrics

    • Every dimension in your system

    • Stores

    • Levels

    • Vendors

    • Evergreen status

By default, these filters include all values.

 

Column

Description

Total Retail

Quantity sold × retail price recorded in the transaction.

Total Discount

Quantity sold × item discount recorded in the transaction.

Total Net Retail

Total Retail − Total Discount.

Total Cost

Quantity sold × calculated item cost at the time of the transaction.

Net Profit

Total Net Retail − Total Cost.

Net Margin

(Total Net Retail − Total Cost) ÷ Total Net Retail.

Sell-Through Rate

Quantity Sold ÷ (Quantity Sold + Ending On Hand).
