Reporting Explained: Sales By Day

 

Use this report to view total sales by day across one or more stores.

This helps you:

  • Track daily sales performance
  • Identify trends over time
  • Compare activity across locations


Reports > Standard Reports > Retail > Sales > By Day


This report summarizes sales by day for the selected filters.

  • Groups transactions by date
  • Includes sales, discounts, cost, and profit metrics
  • Only displays days with recorded sales


  1. Go to Reports > Standard Reports
  2. Open Retail
  3. Open Sales
  4. Select By Day
  5. Set filters:
    1.  Stores (default: All)
    2. Levels (default: All)
    3. Vendors (default: All)
    4. Evergreen Items (default: All)
    5. Event Tags (default: None)
    6. Dimensions (optional filters based on your system setup)
    7. Ignore No Count Items (default: Off)
    8. Show Only Discounted Items (default: Off)
    9. Show Only Returns (default: Off)
  6. Click Generate Report

PeriodDate of the sales activity (days without sales are not shown)
Qty SoldTotal items sold or returned
Total RetailQuantity sold × item retail price
Total DiscountTotal discounts applied
Total Net RetailTotal Retail − Total Discount
Total CostQuantity sold × calculated cost at time of sale
Net ProfitTotal Net Retail − Total Cost
Total Margin(Total Retail − Total Cost) ÷ Total Retail
