Reporting Explained Sale By Hour of Day

Reporting Explained Sale By Hour of Day

Business Need:  This report is helpful for users who want a report to show sales organized by hour of day that the sale occurred.

How it Works:  A Sales>By Hour of Day report shows a summary of sales organized by the hour that the sale occurred.  This report can be filtered to show sales for individual stores, levels, or vendors.  This report can also include total costs, total retail, and other important sales information such as discounts. Note: If your Point of Sale provides sales rolled up at the end of the day, this report will display the sales by hour of day but will most likely display them all as having occurred at mid-night.

Generating the Report:

Go to the Standard Reports section in Yellow Dog:

  1. Select Standard Reports
  2. Open the folder titled ‘Sales’
  3. Select ‘By Hour of Day’
  4. Select the date that you would like to run the report for and choose any filters that you would like to add
  5. Generate report

  4. Period:  Shows the hour of day that the sales were made.  For example a sale at 6:15 am would be included in the period “06 (06:00 am)”.
  5. Quantity Sold:  Quantity of total items sold in a period.
  6. Total Cost: Shows the total cost for all items sold in the period (Quantity Sold x Calculated Cost at time of sale).
  7. Total Retail: Shows the total retail for all items sold in the period (Quantity Sold x Actual Retail as recorded on sales ticket).
  8. Total Discount:  Shows the total discounts applied for items in the period (Quantity Sold x Item Discount recorded on sales ticket).
