Reporting Explained: Inventory Aging by Item
Business Need: This report is helpful for users who want an itemized report to show how long the current inventory has been in stock. All costs are based on the As of Date selected.
How it Works: An Inventory>Aging>By Department report shows a summary how long the current inventory has been in stock, summarized by item. All costs are based on the 'As of' Date selected. This report can be filtered by store, levels, or vendors a well.
Generating the Report:
Go to the Standard Reports section in Yellow Dog:
- Select Standard Reports
- Open the folder titled ‘Inventory’
- Open the folder titled ‘Aging’
- Select ‘By Item’
- Select the date range that you would like to run the report for and choose any filters that you would like to add
- Generate report
Reading the Report:
1.
Shows
the filters used to produce the report’s data, including the date selected for
the report.2.
Change
columns, sorting, and grouping: This allows users to add or remove data
columns to this report as well as organize and group the data.

Store
Name: Shows the
store that the adjustments were made in.
4.
Vendor: Shows
the vendor assigned to the item line.
5.
SKU: Shows
the SKU for the item line.
6.
Item: Shows
the item description for the selected line.
7.
Total
on Hand: Shows the current total on hand for
the as of date selected for the report.
8.
Total
on Hand Extended Cost: Shows the extended cost for the total
on hand quantity of the item as of the date selected for the report.
9.
Total
on Hand Retail: Shows the total retail price for the on-hand
quantity for the item being summarized.
10. Item Cost: Item
Cost as of the date the report was generated for
11. Item Retail: Item retail as of the date the report
was generated for
12. Quantity 0-29: Shows the quantity brought in for the
past 0 to 29 days.
13. Quantity 30-59: Shows the quantity brought in for the
past 30 to 59 days. NOTE: Use the blue hyperlink “change columns,
sorting and grouping” to select to show older date ranges.
14. Retail 0-29: Shows
the retail value for the items brought in for the past 0 to 29 days.
15. Retail 30-59: Shows
the retail value for the items brought in for the past 30 to 59 days.
16. Cost 0-29: Shows the cost for the items brought
in for the past 0-29 days.
17. Cost 30-59: Shows
the cost for the for items brought in the past 30-59 days.
18. Percent 0-29: Shows
the percent for the items brought in for the past 0-29 days.
19. Percent 30-59: Shows
the percent for the items brought in for the past 30-59 days.
20. This row allows you to save, export,
print, or close the current report.
