Reporting Explained: Inventory Aging by Department By Quarter

Business Need:  This report is helpful for users who want a report to show how long the current inventory has been in stock, summarized by department and quarter. 

How it Works:  An Inventory>Aging>By Department report shows a summary how long the current inventory has been in stock, summarized by department and quarter.   All costs are based on the ‘As of’ date selected. This report can be filtered by store, levels, or vendors a well.

Generating the Report:

 

Go to the Standard Reports section in Yellow Dog:

  1. Select Standard Reports
  2. Open the folder titled ‘Inventory’
  3. Open the folder titled ‘Aging’
  4. Select ‘Dept by Quarter’
  5. Select the date range that you would like to run the report for and choose any filters that you would like to add
  6. Generate report

Reading the Report:

1.     Shows the filters used to produce the report’s data, including the date selected for the report.2.     Change columns, sorting, and grouping:  This allows users to add or remove data columns to this report as well as organize and group the data.

3.    Store: Shows the store that the adjustments were made in.
4.    Dept:  Shows the department totals being summarized for this report.
5.    Total on Hand:  Shows the current total on hand for the department being summarized.
6.    Total on Hand Extended Cost:  Shows the extended cost for the total on hand for the department being summarized.
7.    Total on Hand Retail:  Shows the total retail price for the current on hand for the department being summarized.
8.    Quantity 0: Shows the quantity of items brought in for the current quarter.
9.    Quantity 90: Shows the quantity of items brought in of 90 days ago.
10. Quantity 180:  Shows the quantity of items brought in as of 180 days ago. NOTE: Use the blue hyperlink “change columns, sorting and grouping” to show older date ranges
11. Retail 0:  Shows the retail value for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the current quarter.
12. Retail 90:  Shows the retail value for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the period 90 days ago.
13. Retail 180:  Shows the retail value for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the period 180 days ago.
14. Cost 0: Shows the cost for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the current period.
15. Cost 90:  Shows the cost for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the period 90 days ago.
16. Cost 180:  Shows the cost for items brought in summarized for the selected department for the period 180 days ago.
17. Percent 0:  Shows the percent for items brought in summarized by the selected department for the current period.
18. Percent 90:  Shows the percent for items brought in summarized by the selected department for the period 90 days ago.
19. Percent 180:  Shows the percent for items brought in summarized by the selected department for the period 180 days ago.
20. This row allows you to save, export, print, or close the current report.
