 WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

The Print Spooler is the Windows service that manages every print job sent to a printer, including labels printed from Yellow Dog Inventory.

If the Print Spooler stops running, print jobs won't reach the printer even though everything else on your system looks normal. Restarting the service resolves this without requiring a full computer restart.

 PREREQUISITES

Administrator rights on the Windows PC

Caution: This task requires administrator rights. If you don't have admin access on your PC, contact your IT department for assistance.

 STEP BY STEP

Restart the Print Spooler service

1.   Go to the Windows Start Menu, type Services, and select the Services app.

2.   In the Services list, locate Print Spooler.

3.   Confirm that the Status column shows Running and the Startup Type column shows Automatic.

a.    If Status is blank, right-click Print Spooler and select Restart.

b.    If Startup Type is not Automatic, right-click Print Spooler, select Properties, choose Automatic from the Startup type dropdown, and select Apply.
