Yellow Dog/NCR Silver Integration Overview
This document will provide an
overview of the Yellow Dog/NCR Silver integration
Integration Overview
The Yellow Dog/NCR Silver integration is a 2Way integration
- Sales – Pulled from the NCR API
- Items – Pushed to the NCR API
Requirements for items to push to NCR Silver
- The item must be set to publish
- The item must be active - this can be checked in the interface codes as of sync view. From this view, users can also quickly identify that Publish is enabled, and that the item is available to the primary store
- The item must have a unique POS Description – it cannot match any other items and cannot be longer than 50 characters

- The item must be available to the NCR Sync Store, and interfaces must be assigned in that store.
- The NCR Interface for ‘Sellable’ must be Yes
- The NCR Interface for Tax Category must be set

NCR Silver Barcodes
- NCR Silver only allows for one barcode – if the item has a UPC then the UPC will be pushed to NCR, if it does not then the Yellow Dog SKU will be pushed to NCR.
- NCR will only allow UPCs that are 20 digits or less.
Matrices
- NCR does not allow Matrix items without a dimension 1 assigned to be pushed over.
- Dimensions assigned to Matrix items cannot be more than 14 characters long
- The retail price pushed to NCR will be the Retail price set in the Matrix editor for all items in the Matrix
Editing items after they have pushed to NCR Silver
The following are best practices for maintaining and editing items after they have pushed to NCR Silver.
- Any needed edits, to retail price, description, or SKU/UPC should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push to NCR.
- Editing any of these fields in NCR directly rather than in Yellow Dog will prevent any future updates from pushing to Square and will prevent sales coming into Yellow Dog for these items as expected.
In summary – editing items in NCR Silver directly, rather than in Yellow Dog will effectively break the relationship between the item in Yellow Dog and the item in NCR.
Voids
When an item is voided from a transaction NCR does not provide that update to Yellow Dog, and so Voids are not seen or handled by Yellow Dog.
