How Do I Merge Duplicate Items in Yellow Dog?

If you have duplicate items in Yellow Dog provides the ability to merge these items. Note: The ability to Merge items is dictated by permissions, and if you cannot see Merge see your onsite admin for additional permissions. Additionally, Merging items is permanent, and cannot be undone.

First, locate the items that you wish to merge.

Next, highlight both items by holding down the CTRL key while you click.  Then right click and select the option “Merge Items.”  Note:  This feature is a user permission, so if you do not see this option when you right click your items, you will need to reach out to the person in your organization who is able to grant users additional access, or assist you with this task.

A pop up will appear that will ask you which of the two items you wish to keep.  This will be the item that remains in Yellow Dog following the merge.

You will also see a pop up appear to indicate that the on hand value for your item and search results may appear incorrect until ydiMaintenance runs.  This program typically runs overnight for your organization.

Following your successful merge, you will now see your duplicate items combined into one item in Yellow Dog.
