Yellow Dog/Jonas API Overview

This document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog Jonas API Integration 

Integration Approach 

This can be set up as a 2Way – Items are pulled from us, and sales are pushed or 1Way sales are pushed. NOTE: Jonas controls the flow of sales and item data 
  1. Sales – Pushed to Yellow Dog API 
  2. Items – Pull from the Yellow Dog API 
  3. Codes – Pulled into Yellow Dog 

Requirements for items to be pulled into Jonas

  1. Item must have Publish enabled 

  1. Item must be Active 
  2. Item must be available to the store in question
  3. Item must NOT be POS Blocked – POS Blocked, Available, and Publish can all be quickly verified using the Interface Codes as of Cast Sync view. 


  1. Jonas Category must be assigned 
  2. Jonas Area must be assigned 

Item Management Best Practices 

  1. Item edits/updates should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to be picked up Jonas. Any edits made directly in Jonas will be overwritten the next time the integration updates. 
  2. F&B clients will need to map recipes in POS Item map to see ingredients deplete from inventory 

Limitations 

  1. Jonas controls the flow of items and sales data 
  2. Sales are provided once a day after the end of day has been initiated in Jonas 
  3. Discounts are not included with sales 
  4. Special Characters are not supported in item descriptions 
  5. Jonas only supports 1 barcode per item. If there is a UPC then the UPC will be provided, otherwise the item SKU will be provided.
