Yellow Dog/InfoGenesis Integration Overview
The document will provide an overview of the Yellow Dog InfoGenesis Integration
Integration Approach
This integration can be setup as a 1Way (Sales Pull Only) or a 2Way (Pull Sales & Push Items)
- Sales – pulled in from a .txt file provided by InfoGenesis
- Codes – Pulled in from a .txt file provided by InfoGenesis
- Items – Pulled in from a file provided by Yellow Dog
Requirements for items to Push to InfoGenesis
- Item must be set to Publish

- Item must be Active = NOT removed
- Items must be available to the store
- Item must not POS Blocked -- this can be checked in the interface codes as of sync view. From this view, users can also quickly identify that Publish is enabled, and that the item is available to the store.

- Item must have interface Discountable set
- Item must have interface Menu Item Group set
- Item must have interface Product Class set
- Item must have interface Report Category Set
- Item must have interface setting Revenue Category set
- Item must have interface setting Security Level set
- Item must have interface setting Tax Group set
- Item must have interface setting Tax Included set
- Item SKUs cannot match any pre-existing items in IG, unless sales should be reported to that item.
Item Management Best Practices:
- Updates and edits to items should be made in Yellow Dog and allowed to push to InfoGenesis. If updates are made directly in InfoGenesis, it will be overwritten by Yellow Dog the next time the integration runs.
- If an item is deleted or made unavailable to a store in Yellow Dog, the sync will no longer push item updates to InfoGenesis. However, this does not make the item inactive or remove it in the POS.
Limitations:
- Sales files are provided by InfoGenesis once a day
- InfoGenesis processes item files prior to item updates being available to workstations. This means that item updates are typically not seen by users for several hours after item updates are sent to InfoGenesis.
- Currently we are not provided with the correct file to support modifiers for 1-Way integrations.
- Special characters not supported in SKUs
- Starting in September '25 items can now have unique prices per store. NOTE: To utilize this feature Yellow Dog stores will need to be assigned to the associated price levels in InfoGenesis
