Creating the Portion Recipe
- From within Yellow Dog navigate to the Recipe Module
- Select Create New Recipe
- Assign a description to the Recipe i.e., Bag Queso – 6lb Batch Queso
- Select ‘Add Ingredient Recipe’ and select the ‘Batch Queso’ Recipe that was created in the previous section
- Update the Count & UOM to reflect 6lbs

- Confirm the item is checked in the ‘How is the item used in recipes?’ section of the item editor
- On the Size Behaviors tab check the Box for Non-Chargeable if you are using the Concessions workflow. If you are not, then this step can be skipped.
- Navigate to the Create Kit/Recipe tab and assign the recipe for Bag Queso and select the ‘Production’ Recipe Behavior.
- The Net Weight of the item will populate with the Net Weight assigned in the Recipe Editor.

Creating Production Adjustments
Every time a bag is produced in the Warehouse a corresponding adjustment needs to be created in Yellow Dog to account for the ingredients and give an on hand to the finished product that can be transferred to other outlets.
- From the Inventory Items screen filter to the item ‘Bag Queso’ that was created in the previous section
- Select ‘Adjust on hand quantity’ on the right
- Select the Warehouse that has produced the item
- Increase the quantity in the ‘adjust’ column to reflect how many bags were created
- When this adjustment is made users will note the on hand for the item ‘Bag Queso’ will increase and the on hands for the related ingredient items will decrease. Once this occurs, the ingredients will be removed from inventory and have now been accounted for. Any additional adjustments that are needed for this item, i.e., waste or transfers will only change the on-hand of the item ‘Bag Queso’ that represents the finished product.
- In the accounting column, users will enter ‘Batching/Production’
6. Select Submit in the bottom right corner to complete this adjustment
Reminders:
- Once this process has been completed the item ‘Bag Queso’ has been given an on hand, the item can be included in transfers to stands as needed to be used in other recipes such as Nachos or Cheese Fries
- The production adjustments must occur every time the item is produced in the Warehouse locations to ensure the ingredients continue to be accounted for.
- If these adjustments are not made, the item on hand will go into the negative in the warehouse. o Back Dated adjustments can be performed after the fact as needed
- Users will see the on hand deplete for the item ‘Bag Queso’ when this item is sold at stands.
- The ingredients for this recipe do not need to be available to the various stands the item ‘Bag Queso’ will be transferred to, however the item itself (Bag Queso) needs to be available to any stand it will be transferred to.
