FAQs: What is Smart Maths in Replenishment Worksheets?
Q: What is Smart Maths in Replenishment Worksheets?
A: When you're using a replenishment worksheet and the warehouse does not have enough stock to fulfill all the requests from replenishment stores, Smart Math helps determine how to distribute the available inventory in a fair and strategic way.
It calculates the sales percentage for each store over a specified time range and uses one of two algorithms:
- Ranked:
- Stores are prioritized in order of sales performance.
- The highest-selling store receives its full requested quantity first, followed by the next highest, and so on—until the warehouse runs out of stock.
- Proportional:
- Inventory is split proportionately among stores based on their percentage of total sales.
- All stores receive a share of the product, but not necessarily their full requested quantity.
Figure 1: After selecting 'Run Smart Maths' you'll receive a pop-up requesting you to choose the algorithm you would like to apply.
