Should I choose Commit or Commit & Re-Calculate?

Should I choose Commit or Commit & Re-Calculate?

The most important thing to take into consideration is do you have other stores in your database and are they also committing physicals at the same time. The calculated cost engine that computes and updates the costs, uses a large portion of the software’s processing power. This means if multiple stores all select Commit and Recalculate at the same the time the software will likely experience performance slow down, or possibly timeout errors. When selecting Commit & Recalculate the calculated cost engine kicks off immediately to start recalculating the cost of your items. However, just commit updates the on hands update immediately, and our maintenance application does the heavy lifting of recalculating costs overnight.

It would be difficult to put hard limits on how many stores could commit & recalculate at the same time, as every store could be a different size. Yellow Dog advises making these decisions as a coordinated effort for any database with multiple locations.
