Summary

This document provides detailed information on navigating the Yellow Dog Bloodhound application.   You can also request additional training by contacting Support.

Pre-configuration

Use of the Bloodhound is only compatible with Yellow Dog version 372 (or higher) and for hosted customers. If you are currently on another version of Yellow Dog or not hosted, you will need to consult your Implementation Guide or the Support Help Desk for upgrade scheduling or information about becoming hosted. 


To connect to bloodhound from your browser navigate to https://bloodhound.yellowdog.software


Once connected to this page, you will need your Client ID, Username and Password. This information can be obtained from your Implementation Guide or by contacting Support.  

This feature works in conjunction with the Yellow Dog client. 









Getting Started 

This browser-based application is an item lookup tool and can be used to review availability and on hands of items in your system.  To access this site, at least one login will need to have permission to access the Yellow Dog API which also allows users to access our suite of mobile apps. 

Granting Users Access to Mobile 

Access to the Yellow Dog Mobile Apps, is controlled by user permissions. Yellow Dog recommends creating a generic user for the purposes of utilizing this application. Access can be granted by users that have the Grant Users Access permission. 

Once a user has the Grant Users Access permission, they will be able to login and grant other users’ access. 













Locating your Client ID 

The Client ID is located in the bottom right corner of the software next to the date/time. 


Accessing Bloodhound on Appetize Terminals 


This application can be access from the Appetize terminals by setting up User Actions. Anyone with Connect access will be able to set this up. Click Here for steps on how to setup User Actions from the Appetize Knowledge Base. 

Login 

Navigate to the site https://bloodhound.yellowdog.software/ 

On the first screen you will enter your Client ID. 


    












The next screen will prompt you to enter your Yellow Dog username and password.

Navigating the Main Page  

 

     




















  1. Bloodhound Link – is visible on every page. Clicking on this link will bring users back to the homepage. 
  2. User - will be where users can review the information for the user logged in. This will include the username, ClientID, version of Yellow Dog the client is on, and links to the customer portal, and help pages. 
  3. Item Search – will be where users can search for items. They can use SKU/UPC, description, and dimensions to filter items. 
  4. Item List  this will be where all items in the system will be visible. Clicking on an item will expand to show item details. 
  5. Page – Searching will return 50 items per page. If the item being searched is not on the first page scroll to the bottom to navigate to additional pages. 






Navigating the Item Details Page 

  1. Item Overview will display the items description, size, if a dimension 2 (commonly color) has been set, the vendor assigned to the item, the default retail, and the level path for the item. 
  2. Default Retail - will display the default retail price of the item
  3. Vendor – will display the default vendor assigned to the item 
  4. Total on Hand- will display the total on hand for all locations. Users can see a per store break down in the store on hands area 
  5. On Order - will display the total on order of the item 
  6. Next Delivery -   will display the next expected delivery date based on expected arrival dates that may have been added to Purchase Orders for the item.  
  7. Store on Hands - will display the on-hand quantity for each store the item is available to. 
  8. Matrix Items – If the item is a part of a Matrixthe additional items in that matrix will appear here. Clicking on these items will open the item details page for the selected item 
  9. Pictures – will display all images associated with an item. If there are multiple images clicking on one image will make that image appear in the main image location. 
  10. Dimensions – will display all the dimensions assigned to an item

 

    



















Navigating User Details 

  1. User – clicking here will display detail on the user logged in 
  2. Username – will display the username currently logged in 
  3. Logout - will be where users can log out 
  4. Client ID – will display the ClientID of the database being used. 
  5. YD Version- will display the version of the Yellow Dog client of the database being used. 
  6. Knowledge Base  will be where users access the Knowledge Base 
  7. Help Pages – will be where users can access the Help Site 
  8. Application Version – will display the version of the application being used.
